This beer won the CAMRA gold medal in 2001. To date, I have to say this is the best British bottle-conditioned ale I've had, MUCH better than Fuller's 1845. It has an extremely distinct grapefruit taste to it, which at first threw me off, but I became attached to it right away, reminding me of the citrus flavor in German hefeweizen. It has a picture of Mary, Queen of Scots on the label, along with the phrase, "A Beautifully Executed Bottle-Conditioned Ale." I point this out because it took two whacks to behead Mary. So I'm not sure how they define "beautifully," or how they connect it to this beer.
