Bottle: 12 oz brown glass bottle with a blue, orange, white, black, and yellow label. Capped.
Color: Pours a hazy medium golden amber color. There are many small clinging bubbles to be seen around the bottom of the glass.
Head: A small halo of tan medium, small, and very small bubbles forms and is well retained. It does, however, leave strong rings of sticky lacing as it is drunk.
Aroma: Juicy aroma of grapefruit and orange peel hops with some nice caramel malt and spicy rye smells. There is also an herbal and floral smell. It smells like it has a very complex hops profile.
Taste: Great mix of flavors from the hops and the rye. I get orange peel, earth, black pepper, grapefruit, pine, cilantro, some coriander, lemons. There is also a strong honey and caramel flavor from the malt and great spicy rye flavors, and even a little bit of copper. The finish is bright and sharp, with lots of lingering hops, and a little bit of licorice. It is very long, but nice.
Overall: Very nice. I love this beer. I think that it is the best example of the rye beer style that I have ever had. It expresses the rye well, without getting rough like some do. I would definitely drink this again. 9 out of 10 overall, 10 out of 10 in-style.
