Gordon Ale

Oskar Blues Brewing Co

Rocky: Maybe my expectations were lowered because I poured it out of a can, but I was extremely impressed with Gordon. 90 IBU's, 9.2% ABV, and it's that smooth?! Amazingly smooth. That kind of balance in a big beer is not easily accomplished. It also may not be what some are looking for in a IIPA, but I liked it a lot and will definitely get more of this at the next opportunity. (6/24/2006)

Sam: Brewed in honor of one Gordon Knight, who, according to the literature, died fighting a wildfire in 2002, this beer is orange-amber in the glass, slightly cloudy, and sinus-clearing piney hoppy in aroma. I honestly expected this beer to be a real puckerer, but it was amazingly smooth and well-balanced. And at 8.7% ABV, it'll really sneak up on you. I love it. It's currently available in my market in those lovely cans (so appealing to us granola types), but whether you see it on tap or in the cans, I highly recommend it. (3/15/2009)
