Steve: The Dark Side, #9 in Terrapin's "Side Project" series, is a hybrid of a beer (as most Side Projects are), and marketed as a Belgian Style Imperial Stout. To be honest, it tasted more "Imperial Stout" than "Belgian dark ale." It had some roasted flavors coming through, very earthy, and not too hoppy, rather relying on the roasted malts to carry the beer. I could taste a little fruit in the background, maybe some raisin, but the 8.5% abv won me over and killed my ability to tell more of the flavors apart (I should have shared it.....but I hate sharing).
