Abita Light

Abita Brewing Co

Rocky: I was surprised to see this when I visited New Orleans until I found out it was just released recently. I was skeptical about trying it, as I generally avoid light lagers, but wanted to give it a shot because I like Abita in general. For a beer with only 119 calories, they done good. No rice or corn fillers, just a good tasting beer. As far as beer goes it's average....as far as light beer goes it's very good. (1/31/2004)

Sam: Hey, now. This is a find. I don't as a general rule buy light beer, but I saw this today at my folk's house, so on a whim I gave it a try. Golden yellow, smells nice in the glass. Very damned near full bodied. Watery is NOT a term I'd use to describe this beer. At 119 calories, it's not exactly a diet drink, but hey--every calorie counts (if you're counting). Yes, Amstel Light is the best light beer on the market if you feel you must drink light beer. That's IF you're not in a neck of the woods where this little gem is available. If you're a light beer drinker, and you're in the steamy South, seek out this beer. (7/24/2004)
