Big River Vienna Lager

Big River Brewing Co

Steve: Big River is located in Nashville and Chattanooga. This was sampled from the Chattanooga location, and the Vienna Lager appears to be their flagship beer (if the fact that it's on tap all over Chattanooga is any indication). Most of you will find that it's a bit more hopped than the lagers you're used to, and almost comes across as a pale ale. It's fairly dark for a lager, looking a bit like a Bass, and is a hearty 4.18% ABW. When in Chattanooga, I highly recommend drinking one while watching a Lookouts game from the bleachers. Sweet Magnolia American Brown Ale

Big River Brewing Co

Steve: Big River's Chattanooga restaurant puts some of this into their pizza dough, so I figured, what the hell, so I ordered the pizza and a pint of the brown ale. Nice combination. I liked this better than the BR's Vienna lager and Newcastle, if you're looking for a brown ale comparison. You might have to go to Chattanooga to try this, but with the river park, the Tennessee Aquarium, and the tree-lined streets with horse-drawn carriages going up and down the road, you will probably feel that it's worth the effort. 4.13% ABW, in case you care.
