Tim: Very much worth looking for if you visit Spain. Not because it's excellent, but it is head and shoulders above some of the more common lagers in Spain. It was certainly the best lager I tried while visiting Spain. It seemed rather easy to find in the south, where it's brewed. This beer is great for hot weather. No rice or corn or other overpowering adjuncts. Maybe just a little bit of a vegetable adjunct, but minimal. But the hell with trying to figure all that out, what I'm trying to say is that it's not pumped full of all that shit that ruins beer. It's simple and refreshing. The carbonation was a little more present than I'd like but it wasn't bad. Oh and the cans come with foil over the lip of the can to keep it sanitary, which appeals to the mild germophobe in me. A good everyday beer. (6/1/2008)

Sam: Spanish for "star," this caught my eye at the local. Pretty decent standard European lager, actually. Not a standout, but serviceable. Crisp, lightly hopped, it stood up nicely to my homemade chili. Kudos to Damm S. A. for brown bottles. (4/20/2008)

Tim: Cold and on tap this can be a light tasting beer that's a decent enough accompaniment to good food. But watery and nothing special. From a bottle or can this can be skunky, with plenty of corn and rice funk, and metallic adjunct. If you drink a lot in an evening, you may find yourself up late with gut rot. In Spain a lot of bars will only have one beer on tap, and I soon found myself avoiding the ones that had this sign out front. (10/25/2008)

Tim: A very pleasant discovery while visiting Spain. This is a nice full tasting beer with a bit of a caramel vibe. Definitely malty, there's enough bitterness to offset that. A ballsy 7.5% beer was just what I needed to discover after drinking countless light lagers in Spain. And that's what this is. (12/6/2008)
